Hello, I am Mr. Suplex and welcome to the first episode of Slamming the Crap. I am here to give
you my opinion on shitty wrestling Whether you want it or not.

Tonight we look at WCW Nitro. Back in the late 90's you either were Pro-WWF or Pro WCW there was
very little middle ground. And if you turn on wrestling today you will still hear about WCW's 84
week reighn of greatness. Little known fact they actually had the top

STC Episode 2 Script RVD42387 11/6/2010(Fri)09:34:09 No.683476
(first off before i say anything i want to let it be known that this is meant as more of a serious episode of slamming the crap and instead of crap wrestling i deal with a review of the career of one of my ECW Alumni SABU this episode is less about crap wrestling and more about a look at sabu's career I will do a few episodes like this, Chris Benoit is one name that comes to mind)

Hello! I'm Mr Suplex and Welcome to Slamming the Crap. Tonight We are going to look at the wrestler Sabu. [insert a small highlight reel of sabu here approx 1 minute long]. Sabu, who's real name is Terry Brunk, is a wrestler who is best known from his days in the original ECW, see back in the day ECW was a huge phenomenon and were the only independant fed that had a peice of the market, While WCW and WWF were running the wrestling world ECW fans were like no other, they craved Ultraviolence and Sabu gave it to them in ways you will never believe. So sit back and be prepared for Mr Suplex to Superplex you into a pile of crap known as SABU

Now tonight as a referance point I will be using an old ECW VHS tape but ill also touch on some newer stuff as well. Also i said a minute ago that Sabu was crap thats not true I LOVE sabu look i even have an old action figure *pull up sabu figure* the thing is Sabu, Although entertaining, was an absolute trainwreck in the ring, any collections of botches you find online you will find sabu clips in them but in all reality Sabu has been in every major promotion in the last 10 years, He was a 2 time ECW world champion a 1 time ECW FTW champion, infact the only other FTW champion other than Taz, A 6 time ECW Tag Champ, A 2 time NWA world champion, He has been in WCW, WWE, ECW, TNA and almost any popular indy fed you can name with the exception of Ring Of Honor.

Sabu was a Brutal Violent man and his face tells the story of a million scars, this is a man who at the age of 46 looks like he is in his late 60s because of scar tissue, Barbed wire, Chairs, tables, ladders. if it was violent sabu used it, and the fans loved it. Part of this i will say is because of ECW, See ECW had fans like no others, if you werent putting on a pure wrestling match they felt you should be bleeding and would out right boo you if you werent, there is a reason if you watch raw from philly now a days that you will hear cole/striker/JR/king say "These Philly fans are blood thirsty" its because they literally are, there are wrestlers on record in various interviews saying that Philly is the hardest town to wrestle in and it is because of men like Sabu.

Now Sabu is often refered to as the Homicidal Suicidal Genocidal maniac and things like this say exactly why [video montage 2 violent moments] I mean the man is a fucking psychopath in alot of matches he has yet in reality he is pretty down to earth. he has appeared on the cover of High Times magazine with former tag partner Rob Van Dam and he is the nephew of WWE Hall of famer The Original Sheik. And was originally trained as a traditional wrestler but having made a career in japan as a wrestler found himself involved in a huge stream of hardcore matches where alot of his scars originated and eventually became sinonimous with hardcore wrestling

In 1993 Sabu found his way to ECW and by his own admission he was not hired by paul heyman it just was a case of right place right time for sabu as he was refered to the promotion by a friend of "ECW COMMISIONER" Tod Gordon, Tod was the Owner of ECW from the time it was founded until he sold it to paul heyman in 1997, Sabu at the time of his debut was dubbed an uncontrollable madman who was often wheeled to the ring by his "handler" 911 and wore a hannibal lecter style face mast while trying to break free. Also during his time at ECW he became synonymous with table breaking with his theory being if a table wasnt broke he was doing it wrong. this lead to more than one time he would bring a table into the ring after a match and moonsault it until it snapped as another part of this aspect of his character any time a table was around 911 would have to physically restrain Sabu during backstage interviews.[clips of sabu moonsaulting tables]

Sabu's first run in ECW ended in 1995 when he noshowed an event where he was defending the tag titles and Paul Heyman publicly fired sabu in the ring while he was at an event in Japan [heyman firing sabu in the middle of the ring]

Sabu then went on to WCW for a very limited run where he mainly fought cruiserweights, his first match which he won had an overturned decision after he put his opponant alex wright through a table after the match and his overall WCW run lasted less than 5 months ending before jan 1st 1996 here are some highlights from Sabu's WCW run[sabu vs disco inferno] [sheik throwing fireball during sabus match]

In 1996 he returned to ECW and feuded with Rob Van Dam for a short period of time while Taz, Who was sabu's tag partner during his first run began to call out sabu any time he could often times the lights would go out and taz would be ready for a fight but sabu never showed up for a full year. At ECW's first Pay Per View event Barely Legal Sabu finall answered the call and the 2 of them had a grudge match which Taz won. Taz and Sabu continued feuding on and off for nearly 3 years when taz went to WWF.[sabu vs taz barely legal 1997]

Sabu also took part in a cross promotional angle with WWF back around the time of barely legal the highlight of sabu during this angle came during a match Taz was having with Mikey Whipwreck when sabu got on top of the giant R in the raw logo entryway and planned to jump off it onto team taz, Team taz were taz's training crew at the time that was headed by bill alfonzo who later became sabu's manager unfortunately this didnt go as planned, well here have a look how things went [Sabu jumping off the R]

in 1997 sabu took part in a match that clips are still used from at the ECW Supershow Born to be Wired, This match was a No Holds Bared Barbed wire match in which the ropes were all replaced with actual barbed wire and it was absolutely brutal turning the course of the match sabu actually ripped his bicep wide open with a 10 inch long gash that most feel should have ended the match immediately instead sabu grabbed a roll of tape from his then manager Bill alfonzo and wapped his arm in tape. this was a move that even hardcore legend terry funk called insane and to this day he has never seen anyone do anything like that

During his time in ECW Sabu broke his neck twice first in 1994 against chris benoit and once against Taz in 1998, the second time he was wrestling again inside of 2 weeks, he also broke his jaw many ribs and spilled countless amounts of blood

from 2001-2003 he spent time in the indipendant circuit now I never saw any of his independant matches so I dont want to comment on then but I do know he wrestled in ICP's Juggalo Championshit Wrestling and for World Wrestling Allstars

In 2002 he also debuted in NWA TNA wrestling competing in 2 ladder matches in 2 weeks first against malice and the second against Ken Shamrock, he then disappeared from TNA for 2 years until he resurfaced in 2004 and teamed with ECW alumni Raven to take on ravens former underlings Julio Dinero and CM Punk. and later started going against Abyss and Monty brown who alot of people know as Marcus Cor Von in WWECW, Raven during this time began to seperate himself from sabu and this lead to sabu being outnumbered on many occations. this eventually lead to Raven challenging sabu to a match in june of that year but sabu refused as he claimed that he had promiced his uncle that he would never fight raven, this lead to raven disrespecting The Sheik until sabu finally accepted a match

Sabu shortly after the match caught a bad virus which took him out of action for 10 months.

after recovering from the virus he appeared at Harcore Homecoming which was an ecw reunion event that Shane douglas created after not being invited to ECW one night stand, a show put on by WWE at the suggestion of RVD At Hardcore Homecoming he fought Terry Funk and Shane Douglas in a rematch from years earlier from 1994's the night the line was crossed but they decided to throw a twist on the match by making it a Barbed wire match he then fought Rhino 2 nights later at ECW 1 night stand

Sabu then returned to TNA and faded in and out of relivance until Lockdown 2006 where he fought samoa Joe for the TNA X division title. Sabu fought this match with a broken arm and it ended up being his last in TNA

In june 2006 Sabu appeared at ECW one night stand 2 where he fought Rey Mysterio for the World heavyweight title in a match that is panned by most wrestling fans because it ended by doctor stoppage after sabu put mysterio through a table sabu met very little success in WWECW and was let out of his contract in may 2007

after he left WWE he went back to the independant circuit and mexicos AAA promotion again I have not seen any of sabu on the Indys so I will not comment on the matches

I will probrobly get complaints about not talking much about the TNA days or the WWE days. honestly Sabu didnt feel like sabu in these days and i might get some hatemail for saying it but I didnt like sabu's work in the current big 2 and I am sure alot of ECW fans will agree with me that sabu was in his comfort zone in ECw.

Sabu's body has deteriorated alot over the years and at the age of 46 he is still pulling insane bumps every night he wrestles. I will always be a sabu fan and decided I wanted to take some time to comment on his career

This is Mr Suplex and remember As long as there is wrestling this pile will keep getting bigger. I leave you now with some clips from one of my favorite wrestlers, SABU
