Hulk Hogan wants to be the new Billy Mays. RadarOnline.com 27/7/2010(Tue)11:43:16 No.774999    [Reply]
Billy Mays, who passed away in June 2009, made his name by pitching a string of household products such as Orange Glo and OxiClean.

“Billy’s unfortunate passing kind of left a hole,” in the industry, Hulk Hogan’s attorney David Houston told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview, and they hope that the Hulk can fill it.

THQ creating all-new WWE franchise CVG 27/7/2010(Tue)11:59:07 No.775027    [Reply]
THQ is to let loose a brand new WWE gaming franchise next year, CVG can reveal.

In total, the title will bring the publisher's WWE brand stable to four - including flagship game Smackdown! Vs. Raw, the more accessible WWE All Stars (pictured) and free-to-play Asia release Smackdown! Vs Raw Online.

THQ core games boss Danny Bilson told CVG that S!VR Online would not be getting a Western release in 2011 - but that WWE fans in the UK and US would see a brand new game instead.

Nothing fully in the air yet, just a lot of possibility and maybe a dabble of creativity.

Expect a lot of build up for SummerSlam, Summerfest, AutumnSlam (in the WWE Champion's homeland) or just whatever you choose to name it. After all, we do have a world title match from the red show, between Sheamus and often-popular Randy Orton. Unfortunately there is also much attention dragged away from that for another edition of stable wars: in this case, Cena's fondly-named "Alabaster Softshoes" agai

>Unfortunately there is also much attention dragged away from that for another edition of stable wars: in this case, Cena's fondly-named "Alabaster Softshoes" against the Nexus

Sure seems negative with all that "unfortunately" stuff and whatnot. I'm really looking forward to the buildup to this match myself. There're a whole lot of different opportunities that could come into play amongst the teams and I'm personally very excited for that. Don't be a Negative Nancy!

As for Sheamus vs. Orton, I'm still not sure what I expect out of the build-up but I'm looking forward to the match itself so hopes are high.

You forgot to mention another reason to be on the edge of our seats too, the constant threat of Miz cashing in that briefcase.

Add a bit of Ted Junior, Usos and DAT ALICIA into the mix and we have ourselves a hell of a Raw to look forward to.

"truthedgebretcena" One of these things is not like the others. One of these things just doesn't belong.

Sheamus/Orton? Sounds good. I've been silly-bashing Orton today, but he's always fun to watch, same goes for Sheamus.

Nexus stuff... I'm actually looking forward to Cena's Lonely Hearts Club Band mopping them up at SF, but what can they do with that milieu in the meantime?

Sadly, HBK could come back and work a ladder match for the unified title against Danielson and it wouldn't make up for the fact that Ted is on Raw and will get airtime. Shit.

The Miz speaks about starting in UPW, Bryan Danielson and improving as a wrestler, IGN 25/7/2010(Sun)12:34:09 No.769084    [Reply]
IGN TV: How much to do you feel you've moved beyond your reality TV beginnings?

The Miz: I am ever evolving. If you look at me today and you look back at me when I was 20 on The Real World, nine years ago, I was a completely different person. I am very different from who I was back then. I've lived and I've learned. As far as being on The Real World, I had so much fun doing it. How many times in your life do you get to live in a house with seven strangers you've never met. Oh, and you're some

>But as far as Danielson is concerned, he won me over. He changed my mind about him. I thought he was just going to be a guy who couldn't talk. And then I saw a couple of his matches on the independents and I wasn't really blown away. I think it's because everyone kept telling me "he's the best in the world." I think he was so hyped up by all his indie friends that - you know when everyone tells you that a movie is the best and "oh, man. You've gotta see this movie"? You know when you see clips from a movie and it all looks great and then you go see the whole thing and you come out and you say "Well, it was good but...it wasn't as great as everyone said it was." That was Danielson to me. But then I also thought that towards the end he proved himself.

Miz = humbled.

He also makes a great point that when Mizzorison split, they all thought Morrison would go straight to the top while Miz would be doing something else in lower card. But he just won Money in the Bank, you know. Crazy.

>And then when John and I split everyone said he was going to go to the top and I was going to fall down and fail.

I really hope JoMo makes some changes to his character. He's got the all the tools except the gimmick which is keeping him from going to the top. The Miz deserves to be where he's at right now, hes really grown and developed as a wrestler. Back in tough enough when he lost to that I HURT KURT guy we all thought he was gonna fade into obscurity. Who would've known back then that

I don't think JoMo's gimmick is holding him back, because he's toned down on the whole "new agey rock star" thing and now he's just sort of a general cool guy, and I've been more and more impressed every time he's on the mic (starting with him vs. Edge a while back, and most recently against Ted and Maryse). With him I think it's just a matter of time, because he really is constantly improving, especially on the mic.

I do think he's the closest thing we have to a "next HBK", but I guess it'll have to wait for them to give him a chance to run with the ball, like they did with Swagger OUT OF NOWHERE. A JoMo WHC run today would be at least as successful as the Swagger run was. It doesn't take a lot to get the kids to scream for you, as Jeff Hardy/Truth/Kofi proved, so he just needs to be put in that Jeff-like position, and then every kid who was wearing the armbands will be wearing the sunglasses. I think he'll definitely stick around until it happens, and I can't wait.

Oh, and I guess Miz isn't as much of a celebriprick as I thought. Doesn't make me care about his character any more, though.

Bryan Danielson Will Bring Wrestling Into The Future Gabe Sapolsky 23/7/2010(Fri)03:51:21 No.766927    [Reply]
It's amazing how one phone call can change the landscape. I stepped into the beautiful summer night to go to a concert on Friday, June 11th when my phone rang and name "Bryan Danielson" came up.

It was surprising, as I hadn't heard from the man now known as Daniel Bryan in a few months. Maybe he was looking for some feedback since he was coming off the red hot NXT angle the previous Monday. It's embarrassing to say, but I didn't pick up the call, figuring that he could be reached the next day
