For the attention of RVD Sham!/0VgBqRBBs 16/12/2009(Wed)09:06:43 No.426335
I was watching your ECW stream last night and I was shocked at how good it was. Clear, no lag, no banners scrolling across the screen telling us to go to www.PAYFORMYSHITTYSTREAM.com.

I think we can use the stream to our advantage. For live streams of RAW, channels pull in viewers by the thousands. ECW and Smackdown pull in hundreds. How about putting the Wrestlechan.org banner on the top of your stream page? It'll bring us tons of new users. Because your stream is good quality, you'll gain a sort of fanbase if you will, who will always come to your streams, and in turn will come to wrestlechan. Especially when they see you're doing PPVs as well. We can weed out any people we don't want rather quickly with bans too. You can set up a new channel if you want, put 'wrestlechan' or something similar as the username.

Maybe if people stopped going in IRC, we'd have a good enough community.
Why the fuck would you want all those fucking stream idiots on this site too?

The stream I was watching Raw on, someone shit all over the idea of Taker/Michaels 2 and said they both need to start putting over new talent.

tl;dr get off IRC and start posting on a wrestling imageboard.

I plan on weeding out the shitty users with discreet bans. You won't even see the ban message. There won't be hundreds of WWE Universe marks showing up, as chan boards are a little more complicated to your average internet user. I'm just hoping for 15-20 more regular users, who aren't complete retards to stick around. And if it doesn't work, I shall admit defeat.

Sounds good to me. Pissed me off on /wooo/ when they let the retards slowly grow and grow. Elitist, sure, but fuck if I wanted regular retard/srs business wrestling discussion I'd go somewhere like LOP, Oratory etc etc.

Anyway what about IRC? I think someone brought that up before and complained about it?

IRC is pretty much mandatory for all chan boards now, I guess people like IRC because it feels more personal than posting on an imageboard, and you get replies straight away. It allows people to send me private messages about users who are causing problems and things they'd like to see on the site. In some aspects I do agree that having an IRC channel makes some users more hesitant about posting on the boards because they've become accustomed to the instant replies they get in #wrestlechan. My other qualm about IRC is that it tends to build cliques of users, as can be seen on other wrestling forums IRC channels, but it's not been a problem here. Still, back on topic, I'd really like to have more users so we can do/add cool stuff to WC. I'd like to get some sort of podcast thing going in the near future that people can add to, and for that we need smart users. Targeting a mass amount of wrestling fans at once is obviously the best way of doing this. And as I don't believe in spamming 'GO TO WRESTLECHAN.ORG' everywhere, having users come to us via our own stream sees like a good option. To get them to come to us, we need to give them something first. Then we can rival #wooo and be the WCW to their WWE, right now we are the PWG to their WWE.

Advertising everywhere is never the way to go. If you have some important news, do you stand in the middle of the street waving a banner and screaming it at the top of your lungs? No, you tell a few people who you think would be interested in it and have them spread it around.
The other day, Garth invited a few of his Skype friends to a WCCW House Show and Bag Head and a few of the others are attempting to become part of the WCCW roster. I'm sure given enough time they will be valuable contributing members.
Just tell a few people who would be interested and they will come.

I think you'll find that's exactly how advertising works, you target as many people as you can. That's why McDonalds advertise on Global TV instead of putting out half page ads in a local newspaper.

We provide a service to them, and they come back to us in return. Simple.

To be honest, I'm not exactly thrilled about Taker/Michaels 2 either.

Same.

IMO, we should advertise on 4chan. That's where most of the funny people on /wooo/ came from and Sham/Smark can ban anyone they feel is a shitty poster.

Yes but it's better for us now.
We can easily double our numbers using my method and all would be quality members.
Advertising all over would get a lot of bad members.
If we advertised all over /b/, the board would be filled with TOXs

Sham!/0VgBqRBBs 18/12/2009(Fri)10:45:21 No.428155

We aren't going to advertise on /b/. because A - it's full of annoying 14 year olds, and B - because it has nothing to do with Wrestling. We're not even going to touch 4chan, nor are we going to advertise on 420chan (obviously). LIke I menitoned above, people these days are lazy and they are greedy. We all love to get something we like for nothing. We give the people a stream, they grace us with their company on Wrestlechan. 'Wrestlechan' is a good, catchy name, people will remember the Wrestlechan streams and then remember Wrestlechan.org. Give it a whirl, even if it's only a 2 week test run. If there is no increase in traffic, then we'll do it Stumpy's way. Bear in mind I once said "GB2 Wrestlechan" on Britfa.gs in a wrestling thread in hopes to lure some people here. Within 2 minutes of me posting that (at 1am or so in the morning), we had 34 users online at once. Just imagine what would happen if we filled our stream on Justin.tv Now where the dick is RVD?

420chan and /wooo/ were both advertised all over 4chan back when they were still good. /wooo/ went to shit when faggots started advertising on YouTube, Fourdown and most especially WWE Universe.

The WWE Universe raid is what really opened the flood gates. /wooo/ trashed the entire place up on the day the WWE Universe opened. That gave /wooo/ a lot of publicity... especially since some people had names like /wooo/kie, etc.

I think fourdown is a part of the problem that gets vastly understated. As much as my competitive side wants us to reach number one there, I worry we could hit the same fate if we did.

Of course, Sham isn't making bets with Cletus to put a damn banner linking to wrestlechan right on the front page of fourdown for a month like Freehaven did to them over there, so the problem still might not be as severe. One of the larger influxes of faggotry over there definitely corresponded with that month.

Why are you posting under anonymous? I've kept my shenanigans away from the wrestlechan imageboard the whole time so you must be someone from irc.

Also, stop brining irc shit onto the boards it's making this place look real faggy.
