It was already brought up in a thread in /nWo/ that we should have a few miscellaneous gimmick boards such as for dishing the shit out between one another or even EXTREMITIES. Thinking about it, I'm really wondering if activity could pick up if we have a few additional boards. And not just gimmick boards, either; I'm talking even boards that could serve a purpose. We already have enough threads in /wis/ to potentially merit a board for all things related to video games (especially Pokémon) and Kamen Rider.

Well, the one I had in mind goes back to when we had this same roundabout on the old Wrestlechan which would basically serve as a place for all things regarding physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Probably /wellness/ or something, but that could be pushing it. On the other hand, I'm really wondering just who would use that board out of the members we do have.

Anyway, feel free to post your ideas here. Those with the most support will definitely be taken into consideration.

The userbase and e-fed boards are good for keeping /wis/ from being clouded up with those kinda threads though. Also, /userbase/ evolved from /mods/ which was deader than dirt, but we need at least one place to talk about the site itself and this accomplishes that and more.

i meant gimmick boards not actual important boards

like an /ecw/ board where we are in extreme mode 100% of the time or a board where we all discuss our lives as millionaires or some shit, of course it's not going to be fast as fuck but we are pretty active compared to a lot of other chans smaller chans. Being as active as 420chan is like a dream and you can't really expect that with a board that isn't as broad as those other more open chans. This whole chan is dedicated to wrestling while there are other chans out there that are general discussion chans and have room for a wrestling board as active as wrestlechan itself. Now that i think about it, we would be like 75% as active as /wooo/ if wrestlechan were all one board, but I'm fine with how active we are right now.

These are gimmick boards that don't really matter... unless you want to have a super legit chan where all the boards are serious business and have premium discussion and are decently active.

I've been thinking of removing /WCTV/. It was a good idea in theory, but because of the limit that LiveStream imposes on unverified channels, we are missing a lot of features that we can't get unless we get the channel veified. Of course that would cause a lot of issues due to the fact we planned on illegally streaming wrestling events and putting copyrighted stuff on the On Demand. Merging it with /efed/ might not be the best idea, but we can always just embed RVD's Justin TV channel in the board. Live PPV streams are something I've been looking into for months, but I don't have the resources that 420chan do to put on large HQ streams. And because this chan costs NOTHING to host thanks to Infinitus and the IB4F guys (who I am eternally grateful towards), we have no money coming or going to set something up apart from embedding a justin.tv stream and hoping the internet po-po don't fuck it over and remove it.

As for removing /userbase/ - this board is our version of /420/ over on 420chan. Use it to discuss the site, tell us what we might be doing wrong and generally for doing your part to make sure this place keeps being nice and tidy. The name /userbase/ might suggest this board is for talking about the users, and while that's all well and good, I'd prefer it if those threads went in /wis/.

/fap/ is fine, does exactly what it says on the tin. Same for /efed/.

Gimmick boards could be a good idea, but I'm not sure how they'll hold up once the novelty wears off. I think using /nWo/ as a gimmick board every now and then when a specific event occours is ok, like when Hulk signed with TNA and we had Hulkamania running wild for a few days.

People have brought up the fact that Wrestlechan moves pretty slowly. That's just the way it is, as was brought up in a previous post, we're a niche chan for a niche group of people. We only offer wrestling related boards. Unlike the big chans (4chan, 420chan, 7chan etc) we don't cater to everyone by having dozens of boards for a plethora of subjects. we couldn't hurt getting a few more people in, but a lot of people just don't like posting on chans due to their lack of fancy graphics and lack of table breaking signatures. Still I think we've done very well, a lot of single subject chans never get more than 100 posts and we've managed to keep going for about 6 months now.

The niche problem was one of my motives for trying to see what I could about getting affiliate boards last month. OD's own Protochan is already a sibling board since it, too, is hosted by IB4F, but I'm unsure just how many users over there are wrestling fans, let along already lurking/posting here. I know Freehaven's board has a sizable number of fans, but again I have no idea who there is already here except for one or two people; Freehaven himself was fine with us advertising one another, but at the same time he mentioned needing to take it up with his co-admin Sechs, which I can only presume was either turned down or never brought up.

I'm alright with ditching /WCTV/ if you are and just setting up a JTV player of rvd's channel in /efed/ for the nights we have WCCW or another miscellaneous spiel going. And if we go ahead with the gimmick board, it sounds like we're aiming for our parallel to 420chan's /wc/. That's fine by me and could be fun, so it'd be a matter of making an official thread here in /userbase/ to bring up the rotating themes.

The best solution for WCTV would be to find a better service than LiveStream. If that's not doable though then I say... eh, she had a good run.

Legal issues could also possibly come into play. I'm surprised Kirtaner hasn't been slammed by lawyers yet for streaming every damn pay per view.

As for a gif board it wouldn't hurt but I'd think /wis/ could cover that. Not everything in there has to be completely wrestling unrelated after all.

A board to cover streams could go either way for me.

I don't like the idea of embedding rvd's jTV because that board should cater to all e-Feds equally. We could use more e-Feds too to be honest. I might pick up a cap card of my own once I get cable if there's interest.

The all-caps filter was a bit of a hassle last year in my opinion, and I recall vividly the posts which were messed up simply because they were submitted during the transition between modes, but I won't let that hold you back if it goes through. RNG could quite simply be the bigger names out of ECW past and present (some who've already been in the list for a while anyway), and wordfilters...hrm...

I still disagree with renaming /wis/ out of what I guess could be called somewhat of a "tradition" now, but if enough people say it should happen, so be it.

I agree with Smark. /wis/ takes care of everything else, and the Toku thread is already stickied in it, I think which is enough. A board which would pretty much only be one thread and only benefit 5 people seems a bit redundant.

Same can be said for any other popular topics whether it be Power Rangers, Pokemon, etc. If there are popular topics in /wis/ they can be stickied. Probably easier than making a board for it. Just though I'd contribute my thoughts on it too.

Ehh, so I'm probably not in the majority, but I think we should cut it out with the whole "new board" thing at least for the moment, and I feel that the gimmick board would get old fast. And on the contrary, I think this board should pretty much be hidden. However, I think it would be cool to have affiliated sites in the sidebar, the 151chan and the /toku/ and that drug board.

But the bottom line is, I think we should just concentrate on getting the boards that exist to be more active and just talk. And well, each one of us could benefit from looking at the pic related time to time.
